The Light Returns

Flashes of green-yellow light the grass,
the fireflies are back
with the warmth of summer.

They have been gone for years,
absent friends I have missed,
wondering if I did some wrong.

These faerie folk skipping and dancing,
their lightshow such a welcome distraction,
I hope the lights stay this time.
