Flashes of green-yellow light the grass, the fireflies are back with the warmth of summer. They have been gone for years, absent friends I have missed, wondering if I did some wrong. These faerie folk skipping and dancing, their lightshow such a welcome distraction, I hope the lights stay this time. ©️ Emma Steel

How beautiful
This made me happy 🤍
That is wonderful. Poetry should move us somehow.
I am overjoyed that they are back. Thank you for this poem.
They were so pretty.
It is so comforting how the return of something as simple as fireflies can feel like a quiet act of forgiveness ✨
I saw a firefly for the first time 4/5 years ago and it was so insanely magical. They are ethereal little beings that bring a little extra light in our lives when we need it ✨
In the twilight, it’s almost as though they are half in this world and half in another.
Perhaps that’s what the blinking is, them shifting between the two…
